A view from my Skin Care Clinic

Winter Lip Care

Where did all this snow come from? Now is the time to make sure you really look after your skin going from heated rooms out in to the freezing cold.Unfortunately I had a really sore throat last week however; there is always good that comes out of bad as I was to find out.
As you may be aware I live in a village on the outskirts of Glasgow, which is prone to lots of snow and when it comes, most of my clients cancel which is the downside of living in the countryside.Whilst this is not the ideal business solution the slowdown actually suited me for a change as it meant I could give my self permission, to stop and let my body fight the throat infection. A lot of people (men particularly) don’t do this as they think they should, putting the virus transmission issues to one side for the moment, keep on working. I think it is so important to stop or slow down, if you can, and let your body rest and ultimately get better quicker.
Feeling better, I went out for a walk yesterday, it was just so lovely to be out in the fresh air and although it was sunny it was extremely cold with a light breeze. I didn’t realise how cold it was until I came back into the house and realised how sore my lips were. Whilst I sell lip balms and have used them from time to time I have never actually had to use them in anger, so to speak. Nevertheless; I reached for and immediately applied Bare Escentuals Lip Balm SPF 20.
I had forgotten how good this product is , if you are prone to dry lips or want something special to apply after a day in the winter scenery, this is a must. It gives intense hydration and soothes those horrible chapped lips. I have always registered this information particularly when clients repeatedly buy it but have never had the immediate experience myself.
Wow I was extremely impressed with the immediate relief and given the winter we seem to be in for I immediately put the Bare Escentuals Lip Balm SPF 20 on special offer as no one should be without it in their winter handbag.
So four good things came out of this experience for me:
  • A short rest before Christmas.
  • A reminder that I should use the lip balm on a more regular basis.
  • The subject for another blog.
  • I can pass on the experience and a Christmas reduction to you.
Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
